Getting Started With EcoStruxure IT Expert

Getting started with ITE couldn’t be any more straight forward. As it’s a cloud based platform, you only require an account and a gateway installed on a suitable server on site. After you’ve run the auto discover process within the gateway or input the IP’s of specific devices, you’re able to monitor an extensive range of Schneider Electric and 3rd party devices. Ease of deployment allows ITE to work particularly well with distributed IT as several gateways, one per site, can be connected to a single portal.

EcoStruxure IT Gateway

The Gateway is On-Premise software that handles communication with your monitored devices, gathering and sending device data up to the cloud.

EcoStruxure Web Interface

The multi-site remote management web interface provides you with an overview of your entire physical infrastructure – including lights out sites. You’ll get detailed insights, assessments, alarms, and ability to benchmark your assets.

EcoStruxure IT App

The EcoStruxure IT smartphone app allows you to see critical sensor readings and provides you with alarm notification in the event of an issue keeping you informed on the health of your critical infrastructure.

Dashboard and Alarming

The auto-refresh configurable dashboard provides an instant overview of all your sites. From here you can explore a wide range of power and alarm information, such as alarm status, critical and warning alarms, latest alarms and critical alarm history. Interested in a specific site? – You can drill down to any location and access relevant information using the embedded map feature. You can pick your preferred way of receiving alarm notifications, either through the EcoStruxure IT app or via email. Emails and alarms can be sent to an on-duty individual, a ticketing system, or your Schneider Partner. Alarm thresholds can easily be configured within the online portal.

Inventory

The inventory shows details for all devices, and provides you with a quick overview of, Input/output power, balance and run-time. You can drill down further to view sensor data by clicking on the device in your web interface or directly on your smartphone. You have the ability to plot historic sensor data, access the alarms or view the bench-marking assessment for that specific device.

Device Management

Using the device management section, it is easy to deploy device settings and thresholds to a large number of identical devices from anywhere in the world without any downtime. The same approach can be taken to manage Firmware updates. ITE makes it easy to centralise the management of device settings and reduce security risks by keeping you aware of available firmware updates the moment they’re released. This removes the need to update each device manually significantly decreases workload.

Assessments

EcoStruxure performs high-level analytics to provide predictive and prescriptive maintenance. These assessments come in three forms, bench-marking, health ratings and security assessments. EcoStruxure predicts when failures may occur and can make recommendations to increase resilience and enable you to take a proactive role in the management of your IT estate. ITE pulls sensor readings up to the data-lake for each connected device to check for anomalies, harsh operating conditions, pre-failure patterns and to benchmark assets against every other similar connected device in the world. ITE the produces a ‘health rating’, from 1 to 100 for each critical asset.

Device Security

A unique set of security insights provides you with visibility into old firmware, outdated hardware and vulnerable configurations to help you identify and report on current security vulnerabilities, comply with security policies and regulations, and understand the industry’s best security practices. Taking the actions recommended by the assessment enables you to handle security risks proactively, which ultimately saves you time.
