Initial Data Centre Consultation and Concept Creation

Listening to the customer’s needs is the only place to start
Once we fully understand your requirements, we draw on our vast knowledge and experience to explore the best technologies available to fit your needs
We have the solutions and expertise to support your IT equipment in almost any environment. This may involve deploying our tried and tested ‘Room Within a Room’ or a Prefabricated solutions
We can guide you through the stages of selecting your required level of capacity, redundancy, energy efficiency and visibility
Once we identify the best way forward, we can move onto the design stage

The Data Centre Design Process

At this stage we fully understand your requirements – it is now down to us to develop the best solution we can
We use a range of software packages that allow us to design, validate, fine tune and visualise different design solutions
Our design tools ensure any potential hot spots or capacity shortages are removed early on in the design process
Because of our strategic partnerships, we have the ability to ensure system compatibility throughout the solution
It is in the design where we can present potential energy savings and consider eligibility for external funding
Over and above – we aim to be flexible and to clearly communicate our designs

Delivery and Install

Once the order is placed, project realisation can begin
Our project management team has over 20 years experience delivering full turnkey solutions. They are also highly proficient at delivering zero downtime infrastructure refreshes in live data centres
We provide an overall project delivery schedule that satisfies all key stakeholders
We have developed very strong relationships with our contractors – working with most for over 15 years
Once the solution is in place, we fully commission and network integrate the installation

Data Centre Commissioning, Handover and Training

Once the solution is commissioned, usually by the manufacturers own engineers, we undertake integrated systems testing to ensue proper functionality
This includes load bank testing that simulates the designed maximum IT load and heat output
We can simulate mains failures to test power systems and generator start up
We configure the Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software and alarming
Room integrity testing – to ensue the proper operation of fire systems
The thorough testing we subject our installations to ensures functionality but also provides an opportunity to train customers on proper operational procedures
Once both APT and the customer are happy, we hand over the project to the IT or facilities team

Data Centre Maintenance and Support

After project handover we offer continued support and maintenance contracts with scheduled visits
Having the proper support is crucial to maintaining business continuity
All our maintenance contracts are backed-off to the manufacturers. This ensures the most qualified and experienced engineers are looking after your kit
