Advanced Power Technology, in partnership with Schneider Electric, was recently awarded the -Sustainability in the Data Centre Project of the Year – at The DCS (Datacentre Solutions) Awards 2021. APT were also runners up in the Data Centre Consolidation Project of the Year category.
The Sustainability in the Data Centre Project of the Year was awarded to Advanced Power Technology and Schneider Electric in recognition of the Newcastle City Council digital transformation project. The infrastructure upgrades will support Newcastle City Council’s new e-government strategy in delivering services to the 300,000 citizens and businesses in its constituency.
The project scope included physical infrastructure upgrades including new UPS, racks, enclosures and containment as part of a strategy to modernise existing data centre capacity. In addition, EcoStruxure IT management software has increased visibility into the operating environment. As a result, this new system Newcastle City Council’s ability to ensure service continuity, whilst reducing energy consumption by enabling its power and cooling systems to operate with maximum energy efficiency.
